How to Activate Scam Defense on Android
Step 1: Configure Do Not Disturb
First, set up Do Not Disturb to allow your contacts and your Scam Defense secretary to call and text you.
- Open Settings
- Tap Sound & vibration (or Notifications, depending on your device) → Do Not Disturb
- Tap People under Exceptions
- Under Calls, select Contacts only
- Turn OFF: Repeat callers (sometimes labeled “Allow repeated callers”)
- Tap Messages under Exceptions, then select Contacts only
- (Some Android skins): Go back, tap Apps, and ensure Phone and Messages are listed as exceptions
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open Quick Settings, then tap the Do Not Disturb icon to enable it
Step 2: Disable Live Voicemail
- Open the Phone app
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) → Settings → Voicemail (or Call Screen & Voicemail)
- Tap Live Voicemail → switch it OFF
Step 3: Activate Your Secretary
Open the Phone app → Keypad
Dial each code below, replacing XXXXXXXXXX
with your secretary’s 10-digit number from your onboarding email, then press Call:
*61*1XXXXXXXXXX#
*62*1XXXXXXXXXX#
*67*1XXXXXXXXXX#
✅ After each code, you should see Activation Successful.
Done!
All unknown calls will now go through your Scam Defense secretary, and voicemails will arrive via email.
